Professional Practice:
Dr. Magdi studied and worked in both the West and the Arab world. His applied professional experience spans over 23 years and includes various private and public enterprises as well as government and international organizations. The consultancy projects he headed or participated in include developing, installing and/or reforming strategic planning systems, organisation structure, and human resources activities. Dr. Magdi is Chief Executive Officer of the UAE Academy.
· Prior to being appointed the CEO of the Academy of U.A.E., Dr. Magdi was Director of Planning and Follow-up, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
· Director of the Chamber Training Institute (CTI) Abu Dhabi, which is the training and consultancy arm of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
· Executive Director, Abu Dhabi Quality & Excellence Forum.
· International Advisory Board Member, Associates in Cultural Exchange, USA. A.C.E. is the largest private international education organization in the Northwestern United States and is a recognized leader worldwide in the field of international education.
· Advisor and Project Manager, the UAE President’s Initiative for National Human Resource Development (IBDAA). The initiative is sponsored by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and aims at developing and employing the UAE graduate citizens.

Professional and Civic Activities:
· The Advisor to the Minister of Labour & Social Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain (1999-2001).
· Advisor to the High Council for Vocational Training (HCVT) in Bahrain (1997-2001).
· Assistant Director General of Bahrain Training Institute (BTI), Bahrain (1995-1999).
· Participated in research projects with the World Bank, the International Labour Organisation (ILO), and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the fields of entrepreneurship, localization and HRD.
· Held faculty positions at Cairo University, Suez Canal University, Vocational Training Organisation in Egypt, and the Teacher Training Colleges in the Sultanate of Oman.
· His teaching, research and business experience in Egypt, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sudan, Malaysia, China, Germany, Spain, UK and USA added international and multicultural perspectives to his interests. He is regarded as one of the key contributors in the HRD activities in the Gulf region.
· Has wide and excellent relations with international and prestigious organizations all over the world.
Education:
Dr. Magdi earned B.A., B.Ed. and M.A. degrees from Cairo University, an M.Phil. degree from Stirling University in Scotland, and a Ph.D. degree from American University in London.
